School/Center Overview

The Division of Finance is responsible for an array of centralized financial functions of the University. Our various departments are responsible for administrative services that support financial accounting and disbursement activities, research administration, external and internal investments, cash and debt management, risk management and student registration and financial aid. http://www.finance.upenn.edu/default.asp

Duties

Provide financial and administrative support for the Office of Research Services. This position is responsible for depositing checks and identifying and applying the cash receipts to the appropriate award/invoice in the University’s billing and receivable system. This includes extensive interaction with the staff of the University of Pennsylvania and sponsors regarding payments and outstanding receivables. Additional duties include reviewing revenue exception reports and taking action to resolve issues, monitoring receivables, contacting sponsors on delinquent receivables, sending out dunning statements as appropriate, and ensuring that any actions are clearly recorded. Administrative duties include scanning and indexing payments and post award documents into the imaging system. Participates on additional receivable and data integrity projects as assigned

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Two years of working with receivables or in related area. Excellent communication, organizational skills required. Must have strong attention to detail and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Oracle Financial and Business Objects a plus.
