Reporting to the Director of Clinical Affairs, the Quality Improvement Coordinator reviews, evaluates and implements Penn Dental Medicine (PDM) Quality Improvement (QI) and Infection Control (IC) standards. This position requires compiling statistical data, writing narrative reports and making presentations summarizing QI and IC findings. The coordinator schedules training classes for infection control, basic life support, safety and biohazard management and responds to Occupational Exposures and Accident Incidents reported to Clinical Affairs. The QI Coordinator also assists in the preparation of materials for Accreditation, various surveys and regulatory standard reviews.
An Associate’s Degree or two year college equivalent is required and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Infection Control and Quality Improvement standards in a clinical setting required. Must hold current certification as Phlebotomist. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and expert with Excel. Prefer experience with statistical applications. Experience in data collection and statistical data analysis. Proven ability to prepare detailed reports of data analysis present in a clear and concise fashion in department and School presentations.
