Duties

This is a full-time position with the Penn Injury Science Center (PISC), Perelman School of Medicine, and University of Pennsylvania. The PISC has ongoing research in the prevention and control of injuries. This position will coordinate all study operations for a multi-site concussion study, and support an additional suite of research studies around youth violence, health policy, and clinical and population health outcomes related to injury. Responsibilities related to the research study include leading research meetings and study discussions across sites; on-boarding new sites to the study; developing study protocols; managing the study database; presenting findings and drafting manuscripts for peer review; and additional day-to-day operations as needed. Responsibilities across the suite of research include the analysis and management of data; leading select research team meetings; attending and presenting at local and national conferences; and co-authoring manuscripts. The position will also be responsible for the supervision and training of Junior Research Coordinators, we well as student trainees.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master’s Degree is highly preferred. Candidate should be organized, professional, and have the ability to multi-task. Experience working with Microsoft Office products is a must. Candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidate will have superior organizational skills, have the capacity to handle multiple tasks, possess strong project management skills, and coordinate activities of staff and trainees. Data management skills are a plus. Ability to work in a diverse multi-disciplinary environment needed. Experience on research regarding public health, injury, violence, and geography a plus. Ideal applicants will demonstrate strong leadership and professional skills.
